Snowy is a young female Labrador / Lurcher type that was surrendered to the care of the ISPCA following a call regarding a neglected dog in County Cork.

ISPCA Inspector Lisa O'Donovan investigated the complaint and, on arrival at the premises, found the nervous undernourished dog living in squalor. The garden was littered with debris and rubbish and Snowy had no clear comfortable area to rest.

Desperate conditions

On speaking with the owner Inspector O'Donovan established that Snowy had been brought home for the child of the house and, as with most situations like this, the novelty of dog ownership soon wore off.

Inspector O’Donovan said "We are endlessly appealing to people to be responsible when it comes to bringing an animal into the home. Too many times we come across situations like this. Little puppies can grow into large dogs that are cast aside when the novelty wears off. Thankfully, in this situation the owners made the right decision for Snowy".

This young lady will soon be up for adoption. She has a very sweet and gentle nature and will be a wonderful addition to her new home.
