Cat rescued from telegraph pole

In West Cork, ISPCA Inspector Lisa O'Donovan responded to a call regarding a cat that was trapped on top of a telegraph pole. The caller reported that the cat had been on top of the pole for two days and was unable to get down.

Arriving at the scene, Inspector O'Donovan found the female cat perched on top of the pole, distressed and anxious to get down. It was established that the rescue could be carried out safely and, with the help of some locals, a ladder was erected and Inspector O'Donovan retrieved the cat to safety.

"Thankfully the weather conditions had been mild and dry otherwise her suffering would have been more severe” commented Inspector O’Donovan, “she had suffered no injuries and was very happy to be reunited with her owner".
