The ISPCA was delighted to partner with Universal Pictures Ireland for the Irish premiere screening

18th May 2019

Universal Pictures Ireland and the ISPCA hosted the Irish premiere screening of The Secret Life of Pets 2 for pet owners and their pets at Odeon Point Square, Dublin on Saturday 18th May 2019.

The ISPCA was thrilled to be selected as the charity partner to host the pet friendly Irish premiere screening.

ISPCA Public Relations Manager Carmel Murray said:  “We were delighted to see so many well behaved pets at the cinema.  We brought along some of our own ISPCA rescued pets looking for new homes and it was great to see puppy Odhrán looking so well after his life-saving cardiac surgery with new adopter Louise.  It was a fantastic event and it’s great to see Ireland becoming so much more pet friendly”.

In attendance were pets from across the country, including dogs, a hamster and even two ferrets! Pets got to strut their fluff down the red carpet, were put to the test in the agility trials area, got to kick back and relax and enjoy a doggy massage and received a pampering at the pawdicure station! Humans and pets in attendance were also the first to see The Secret Life of Pets 2 before it hits cinemas across Ireland on May 24th.

Special guests in attendance included Erica Cody and here dog Bowie, Natalie B Coleman and her dog Lucky, Triona McCarthy and family, Laura Woods and her dog Mini, Rosie Connelly, and Michele McGrath. Also in attendance was Vanessa Murphy with her dogs Blossom and Florence, Molly Coyle and her hamster Ed, Bee Cleary and her dog Luca, Ariana Persechini and her ferrets Batman and Robin and Michelle Connor with her Bulldog Bear.

Illumination’s tenth animated feature, The Secret Life of Pets 2, is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2016 comedic blockbuster that had the biggest opening weekend ever for an original film, animated or otherwise.

Packed with Illumination’s signature irreverence and subversive humor, this new chapter explores the emotional lives of our pets, the deep bond between them and the families that love them, and answers the question that has long intrigued every pet owner: What are your pets really doing when you’re not at home?
