Rescued pony Kay has had the most gorgeous healthy foal called Poppy

Remember Kay the pony with a severe neck wound that we rescued over the St Patrick’s weekend?

Well she had a gorgeous healthy foal named Poppy this week and we are delighted to say they are both doing well.

Kay was heavy in foal and had a badly infected injury on her neck that required immediate veterinary treatment when she was seized by ISPCA Chief Inspector Conor Dowling in the Wicklow area.

ISPCA Chief Inspector Conor Dowling said:  “I am delighted to see Kay making such a fantastic recovery. It could have been a very different outcome had we not been alerted by a concerned member of the public. Huge thanks to our friends at the Irish Horse Welfare Trust (IHWT) for caring for Kay and Poppy”.

A case file on the matter is being prepared. Anybody wishing to report animal cruelty can contact the ISPCA National Animal Cruelty Helpline on 1890 515 515 or report online here https://www.ispca.ie/cruelty_complaint
