Plant a seed and grow your legacy with the ISPCA’s Free Online Will Writing service

This November during My Legacy month, the ISPCA is calling on animal lovers across Ireland to plant a seed and grow a legacy by considering leaving a gift in their Will to Ireland’s national animal welfare organisation. Legacies are an important source of income for the ISPCA and help to ensure that vital services can be funded to protect vulnerable animals for generations to come.

The ISPCA was delighted to attend the launch of this year’s MyLegacy Month campaign. This campaign reminds people of the importance of making a Will and generating awareness about legacy giving, encouraging people to consider leaving a legacy gift in their Will to a favourite charity that means something to them.

Irish garden designer, television personality and 2021 campaign ambassador, Diarmuid Gavin, is calling on people to ‘grow their legacy’ as part of this year’s My Legacy Month campaign. The ISPCA is a member of the umbrella group MyLegacy, which is made up of 80 Irish charities working together to make legacy giving the norm in Ireland.

Now in its second year, the ISPCA’s Free Will Writing service has already given many people the peace of mind of knowing that loved ones, friends and family will be cared for. It can be used to make a Will for the first time or to amend an existing one. It’s available at no cost and there is no obligation to include a legacy gift. As legacy gifts are so important for many charities, any cause that a person cares about can of course be included. There is also the option to have a solicitor review for a small fee. Lylah O’Beirne, ISPCA Head of Fundraising said: “Leaving a legacy gift to the ISPCA is a wonderful way to celebrate the unconditional love and companionship animals give to their owners. Legacies enable us to continue our vital work knowing that funds will be available now, and into the future to help save and protect animals who are voiceless. If like us, you are an animal lover and care deeply about animal welfare, then leaving a legacy gift to the ISPCA is a great way to support our work.”

Every legacy gift makes a difference. When a person remembers a charity such as the ISPCA, their legacy will continue to grow to help to rescue vulnerable animals from appalling conditions and give them a better life in the years ahead.
