ISPCA calls on all animal lovers to join #TeamISPCA to raise funds and create more #HappyTails

4th March 2020

Join Holly White and Laura Young along with thousands of other women in this year’s Vhi women’s mini marathon taking place on Sunday 31st May 2020 and help the ISPCA continue to rescue, rehabilitate and responsibly rehome some of Ireland’s most cruelly treated and neglected animals.

Fashion, food and beauty blogger, author and ISPCA Ambassador Holly White said: “We can all make a difference in protecting the many vulnerable animals who don’t have a voice.  I’m only too delighted to help raise funds for such a worthy cause by taking part in this event and together we can help create even more #HappyTails. Join us for a fun day out while also raising vital funds so the ISPCA can continue their incredible work, rescuing animals from the most appalling situations imaginable”.

Laura added:  “I am so happy to be joining #TeamISPCA this year and the mini marathon is a great event for all fitness levels whether you are walking, jogging or running.  Come along and join us in supporting a charity close to all our hearts”.

ISPCA Head of Fundraising, Lylah O’Beirne said:  “We are calling on our amazing supporters, friends, and all animal lovers across the country to sign up and support the ISPCA to raise funds and help us create lots more #HappyTails.

When we rescued a young collie dog called Holly,  she arrived thin, malnourished and extremely nervous at one of our ISPCA rescue centres, along with her eight little puppies. She was so unsocialised and nervous, she was not adjusting well in kennels. One of our animal care assistants took Holly home every evening, while her puppies were hand fed, before being successfully rehomed. Holly slowly gained confidence and weight - as you can see, thanks to the loving care at the ISPCA and our generous supporters, she is a totally different dog today”.

We are asking animal lovers to support the ISPCA and raise funds to help create lots more #HappyTails for animals just like Holly!

By taking part in the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon on 31st May and raising…..

€70 you could Kit out a Kennel for one of the dogs in the ISPCA’s care. Rescued dogs and puppies that are in our care, have often been subjected to cruel treatment, neglect or abuse. To help with their new start in life with a loving new family, they need basic facilities such as a bed, lead and collar, food bowls and a toy.

€150 you could help fund a Complete Health Care Plan – neuter or spay, vaccinate, worm, de-flea and microchip a dog or cat in our care. Vaccinating prevents animals contracting many diseases, that in some cases causes more suffering. De-worming and treating for fleas is also important and microchipping will mean the safe return home if an animal strays or becomes lost.

€250 you could help provide urgent life saving Veterinary Treatment – funding emergency veterinary care to help to treat an animal that has been brought to one of our rescue centres, and is in need of immediate treatment after injuries caused by abuse or neglect.
