HOW TO GET INVOLVED AND SUPPORT THE ISPCA?
STEP 1 You will need to register with the official marathon organisers to participate in the Dublin Marathon which can be completed on-line www.dublinmarathon.ie.
STEP 3 Set up your own fundraising page on either www.idonate.ie or www.mycharity.ie. This will help you with sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues and will save collecting money afterwards.
Remember any amount, no matter how small will help animals in both in our care and those that need our help.

A: Monday 27th October
Q: WHAT IS THE START TIME OF THE RACE?
A: The race starts in waves as follows:
08:50 : Wheelchair entrants
09:00 : First wave
09:10 : Second wave
09:20 : Final wave

Q: WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY WAVE STARTS FOR THE REST OF THE FIELD?
A: Entrants pick one of three time zones when registering. Runners will start according to their allocated Times Zone. This is to ensure that there is less congestion in the early part of the race and all competitors achieve a smooth and prompt start. The wave system successfully blends participants in mutually competitive groupings.Under 3 hours 50 minutes (Orange Race number) starting at 9am.
Q: WHEN CAN I ENTER?
A: Entries are open now but must be received by 17:00 hrs. C.E.T on Monday 1st October. There will be no late entries at registration or on race day.
Q: HOW DO I ENTER?
A: Enter on-line or request an entry form from the Dublin Marathon office.
Q: IS IT A GUARANTEED ENTRY OR A LOTTERY?
A: Your race number is guaranteed once you have paid your entry fee on time.
Q: DO I HAVE TO RUN FOR A CHARITY TO GET A RACE NUMBER?
A: No, you are not required to run for a charity to gain a race number.
Q: DO I NEED A QUALIFYING TIME TO RUN?
A: No, you don't need a qualifying time to run.
Q: WHAT IS THE ENTRY FEE?

Q: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ENTER ON-LINE?
A: Your credit card details will be taken and debited for the entry fee amount plus a handling charge of €3. You will receive an e-mail detailing your RACE number (it will be under ENTRY DETAILS) and also the details of the EXPO. Please bring this e-mail along with you to the EXPO to collect your race number and chip.
Q: WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I AM ILL OR INJURED BEFORE THE RACE?
A: You must be fit and well to run a marathon. Severe exertion during or soon after any kind of fever is extremely dangerous. If you find yourself in this situation you must withdraw - even if this is the first time you are running the event.
Q: DO I GET A REFUND OR DEFERMENT IF I CAN'T RUN?
A: Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and entries are NON-TRANSFERABLE. Sorry, no exceptions. Once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate.
Q: CAN I TRANSFER MY NUMBER IF I CAN'T RUN?
A: You may not give or sell your number to anyone else. You may not transfer your application to the following year or another Marathon Series Event.
Q: WHERE DO I PICK UP MY RACE / BIB NUMBER (RACE PACK)?
A: Race numbers (race pack) will be available for collection at the Dublin Marathon EXPO in the Main Hall of the R.D.S on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th October between the hours of 11am and 18:00 hrs.
Q: WHERE IS THE EXPO?
A: The Dublin Marathon EXPO takes place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th October and you must attend to collect your race (bib) number. You must bring Photo ID with you to collect your number. As last year the EXPO is in the Main Hall of the R.D.S in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.The venue has great facilities and is easily accessible by road, bus, dart (local train service) and car.
Q: WHAT DO I COLLECT AT THE EXPO?
A: At the EXPO you will collect your running number (bib number), pins, a route map and an adhesive numbered sticker. This sticker must be fixed to the front of the kit bag, which you will be given as you leave the Registration Area. You race number will also include your chip on the back.You will require photo ID to collect your running bib at the EXPO You must wear a chip to get an official finishing time. Do not leave without collecting your race number (with the chip) and kit bag. Remember, NO CHIP NO TIME.
Q: WHERE ON THE RACE (BIB) NUMBER DO I INCLUDE MEDICAL INFORMATION?
A: On the back of your race (bib) please put any important medical information and a contact number in case of emergencies.
