ISPCA Chief Animal Welfare Inspector Conor Dowling spoke to AIT veterinary nursing students

ISPCA Chief Inspector Conor Dowling spoke to vet nursing students at Athlone Institute of Technology on Thursday, November 22nd.

He gave students an overview of the ISPCA Inspectorate and what we do, and also led a discussion digging into the ethics of animal welfare. Inspector Dowling encouraged students to think about how sometimes perceptions of cruelty are subjective, and how some acts that appear morally wrong are not legally wrong.

Inspector Dowling said: “I am delighted to have had the opportunity to speak to the veterinary nurses of the future. These AIT vet nursing students were bright and engaged, and I wish them the best in their professions.”

Thank you very much to AIT and the veterinary nursing students for welcoming Inspector Dowling and the ISPCA into their classroom!
