An urgent call to the ISPCA Helpline had Inspector Lisa O'Donovan rushing to a property in Ballincollig, County Cork in response to a plea for help regarding a cat that was caught in wire. The tabby cat had been seen distressed and unable to free itself from some wire in a back garden. On arrival at the premises Inspector O'Donovan found the male cat frantically struggling to free itself. The more it struggled the tighter the wire caught the leg.

With care and speed the Inspector was able to cut the cat free and immediately brought it to a local veterinary hospital. "Unfortunately these incidents are not preventable as cats are curious animals” said Inspector O’Donovan “we are just pleased to have been able to get this unfortunate cat out of its predicament as quickly as was possible"
