Swan Release

Responding to a call regarding an injured swan, ISPCA Inspector Lisa O’Donovan arrived at a sea side village where she found a young swan lethargic and unwell. Removing him to a wildlife specialist practice, he was admitted for 48hrs and given treatment and fluids.

Making a remarkable recovery, the swan was discharged and released in a wildlife sanctuary where he will recuperate before being returned to his original home.

“It is very satisfying to see such a sick animal make such a wonderful recovery, “ said Inspector O’Donovan, “It’s one of the nicer aspects of the job and is extremely rewarding to have such a wonderful result.”
