Bibi is a fabulous girl. She adores her humans and loves nothing more than lots of cuddles and kisses from her carers. She is fantastic on lead and off lead as she is very loyal. She is crazy about fetch and loves nothing more than a good stick to carry around, size is no object! Bibi would ideally suit a home as a single dog.

Tupac is the most adorable boy you will meet and he is waiting patiently for a fantastic family to take him home. He is like all puppies playful and packed tight with mischief but he is also very sweet and affectionate and we think he will make a fantastic pet. He is believed to be Rottweiler GSH X and as such is a restricted breed. His new home must good fencing, knowledge of restrictions for this breed and a responsible nature to implement these laws. He will require on-going training to allow him to grow up into a well mannered adult. He would love to be adopted with his buddy T-Bone if possible but were are open to any offer of a suitable responsible home.

Joey is a fabulous big lad looking for his own forever home. He is a mature boy and would love to finally have a home where he is loved and well cared for to live of the rest of his days in comfort. He is so sweet, loves other dogs, walks well on lead, is great off lead and the icing on the cake, he is house trained. He is such a special boy and has overcome horrendous skin condition to bounce back to good health. Don’t be fooled by his age, he is quite playful and mischievous and thoroughly enjoys good play esp. with a tennis ball. He will make a fantastic family pet, can you take this gorgeous boy home?

He is strong on lead and will need on-going training in this but he is fantastic off lead, very loyal. He is not good with other animals, horses, cats or small mammals. Bear

Bear is a cracking boy looking for his own forever home. He can be quite lively and will require on-going training but he is smart and a fast learner and it wont take him long to figure out his new routine. He will require secure fencing, preferably another settled dog for company and to learn from. He walks well on lead and is very social with other dogs, he will be further tested with other animals prior to adoption. As he has a long fluffy coat he will require daily grooming to keep his fabulous coat in top shape. He is a lovely boy and although he didnt receive adequate training as a puppy he is so sweet, just a little boisterous. Can you find room in your home & heart for this lovely boy?

Terrier Cross Puppies

Terrier Cross Puppies

This is one of the 10 terrier cross puppies that were born to Maeve, a medium sized, brown, terrier, in the middle of June. We are starting to take bookings for them now, although they won’t be ready to be homed until mid/late August after their vaccinations. There are both male and female puppies. These pups can only be booked in person at our KWWSPCA animal shelter so please visit there if you are interested. The shelter, which is on the road from Athgarvan to Twomilehouse (just outside Newbridge), is open every day for visitors from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. We do ask for a re-homing fee of €75 when we rehome a puppy (or €100 to include the future cost of neutering) to partly off-set the veterinary and other costs, and a home check will be required. Apologies for stating the obvious, but please bear in mind that puppies are a long-term commitment who will require a lot of basic training (toilet, lead etc) and that ideally there should be someone at home with them for most of the day when they are young. Please call 087 1279835 or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) if you would like more information or need directions to the shelter.

Terrier cross puppies

Terrier cross puppies

These 8 terrier cross puppies were born in the middle of June and will be available for rehoming in mid to late August after their vaccinations. There are four males and four females. Their mother, Judy, is also looking for a permanent home. Judy found refuge in the KWWSPCA Animal Shelter just before she was due to give birth and she has been a great mother to them. If you are interested in offering one of the pups a home, the best thing would be to visit our KWWSPCA Shelter in Athgarvan, near Newbridge (open daily from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm) and reserve the one you would like. We do ask for a re-homing fee of €75 (or €100 to include the future cost of neutering) to partly off-set the veterinary and other costs, and a home check will be required. Brooks is a super sweet girl looking for her forever home. She is so affectionate and gentle she would thrive in a home with children preferably over 6. She will require a home with secure fencing,, preferably another dog for company or company of her humans throughout the day. She will need plenty of exercise to keep her brain active as well as her body, preferably agility or rehomed with a runner to let her use up her excess energy. She loves people and other dogs, is good on lead but all in will need some further training. Can you offer this gem her second chance?

Oakley & Snudge

Oakley & Snudge

These two gorgeous boys are looking for their own forever home. They are great with other dogs and adore the company of people. Both dogs love kids, Oakley especially but as they are lively big boys they would best suit a home with kids over 8, experienced with dogs. High secure fencing is a must and no cats or small mammals as they are too interested in them. They have good recall but as lurchers they quite often find something fun to chase and take their time coming back. Oakley loves his cuddles and is very laid back, Snudge is very puppyish and just mad to play all the time but when he's calm he is very affectionate too. Both boys are house trained & indoor dogs and are waiting patiently for a loving forever home to come forward. These boys adore each other and are so cute together we are appealing for a family to come forward to adopt these stunners. They are currently in foster, please call to arrange a meet. 043 3325035 Both boys are fully vaccinated, micro chipped and neutered and ready to rehome.

Tosca is a 2 year old male Husky/GSH cross breed, who needs a new home through no fault of his own and unfortunately his owner passed away. He's a fine healthy dog who has been neutered, fully vaccinated, flea/worm treated & microchipped. Tosca is a happy, good natured fella who is good with other dogs, (not cats), people, very friendly and affectionate, he also responds well to commands, will 'sit', pulls a little on the lead and training would need to be continued. He would be an excellent companion pet preferably with someone who has experience of his mixed breeds, the time to spend with him and a safe garden area.

Avery

Avery is a semi Feral cat and would be best suited as a farm cat with free reign over the area. She would make a great mouser and will keep the rodent population at bay esp around the farm and feed stores. She is vaccinated, treated for parasites and neutered and as such ready to go home. All she will need in her home will be access to a warm bed in a shed/barn and good quality food to keep her healthy and strong. She will be rehomed with her sister Amelia, providing a source of comfort to each other in their new start. It is also worth noting it is best to have neutered semi feral cats around your property as it will deter other cats coming and staying around, subsequently breeding.

She has already become more trusting and will a little TLC she will make a great addition to her new home. She would thrive quicker if she could be rehomed with one of her siblings for company or with a existing confident cat. She is so pretty, she will grow up into a stunning cat. She is litter trained and ready to rehome. Can you help this deserving little lass find her forever home?

Abbey & Ariel

Abbey & Ariel

These two adorable mixed breed pups are both female and 2 of four pups who were abandoned in a cardboard box at the side of a busy road, all are lucky to be alive thanks to a passer by who spotted them and handed them into our care. They were in a dreadful state, filthy, stinking, starving and very confused. However, all are now in great health, well socialised & used to children, other dogs & animals, they have been fully vaccinated, worm/flea & kennel cough treated. Discounted price vouchers for spaying are issued for use at 6 months of age. Happy pups who would be great family pets.

This is SASSY who is looking for a lovely family to come and offer her a HOME. Sassy is about 1 year old and a Terrier x with a bit of Collie in there we think (she is smaller than a Collie). She is neutered, micro-chipped and vaccinated. She came into the care of the KWWSPCA from the Kildare Dog Pound after staying for her regulation five days, but she seems to have been well cared for in the past as she is in good condition and is a very friendly, obedient girl. She loves playing games and would fetch a ball and drop it at your feet all day if she could! She also mixes well with the other dogs at the Shelter. If you would like to find out more about Sassy, or would like to meet her (and play ball with her!) at the KWWSPCA Shelter in Athgarvan (near Newbridge), which is open daily from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, please call/text 087 1279835 (reasonable hours only) or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Hazel

Hazel

Hazel is a gorgeous lurcher who has obviously had a difficult life in the past and what she really now needs is a warm, comfy sofa to call her own. Could that be with you or someone you know? Hazel is about 3 years old and came into our care underweight and not in great shape overall. She has been getting plenty of TLC and lots of feeding up for the past couple of weeks – she still needs to put on more condition although her coat is now much improved. Hazel is just the gentlest soul imagineable. She has eyes that would melt your heart, loves receiving any affection and all she wants to do is find somewhere to snuggle up and have a nice rest. She won’t need a lot of exercise as one good walk in the morning is all she wants at the moment (she digs her heels in if you try to give her a second walk!), and she must live as an inside dog. A home check will apply (as with all our dog re-homings). She has been neutered, vaccinated and wormed. If you would be interested in re-homing our lovely Hazel or for more information about her, please call/text 087 1279835 .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). She can be visited at our KWWSPCA shelter in Athgarvan (just outside Newbridge) which is open daily from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Kelean

Kelean

Kelean is a handsome little lad waiting patiently for his family to come forward and adopt him. He is a fantastic little lad who will fit in well to any home, especially with children as he adores interacting with people. His new adopter will need experience raising puppies, with particular emphasis on lead, house and obedience training. He will require time and lots of patience to teach him good manners and allow him to grow up into a settled well trained adult dog. Secure fencing is a must to keep him safe and lots of walks and mental stimulation to keep his inquisitive mind occupied. He would love a home with another playful dog or puppy to play with. Are you the family who can give Kelean a second chance?

Katelyn

Katelyn

Katelyn is fabulous little lady looking for her own forever home. She is a sweetheart and will make a fantastic family pet with children. Equally she would suit any home but ideally with another dog for company. Her new adopter will need experience raising puppies, with particular emphasis on lead, house and obedience training. She will require time and lots of patience to teach her good manners and allow her to grow up into a settled well trained adult dog. Secure fencing is a must to keep her safe and lots of walks and mental stimulation to keep her inquisitive mind occupied. Have you room in your home and heart for this fabulous little lady?

Katelyn is currently in the care of the ISPCA National Animal Centre

Dina

Dina

Dina is a gorgeous little girl looking for her own family to love her. She is very friendly and forthcoming and will fit in well to most homes. She is social with other dogs and will be tested with other animals prior to adoption. She will require a home with a secure yard/garden where she can safely run around and play. In her new home she will require daily walks and lots of mental stimulation to occupy her mind, she then in return will give you back unconditional love. She has one eye smaller than the other and we are currently investigating whether this will affect her in the future, whether she has loss of vision There is no evidence of this at present but a full vet report will be available prior to adoption.

Luna

Luna

LUNA is looking for a home. She is a little Staffie cross, whom we estimate to be about 8 to 9 months old. Luna is a very friendly, sociable, active little girl who is full of beans and mixes well with other dogs. She loves human companionship and as she is still quite young, she would need to go to a home where there would be someone with her for most of the day. She is good on the lead and is quite obedient. Please call/text 087 1279835 or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for more information about Luna. We ask for a rehoming fee of €100 when we rehome a dog to partly cover their veterinary and other costs. We will also need to do a home check.

He will be further tested with other dogs, cats, horses and poultry prior to adoption. He is currently on treatment and will soon be available for adoption but in the meantime we would love to line up suitable forever home for him. Beauty

Beauty

Beauty is a lovely lady looking for the quiet life. She has made a tremendous turn around as when she arrived she was petrified and could not bare to be touched, today she is a much more confident lady who adores cuddles. She is not fully socialised yet though and would greatly benefit from a quiet home with preferably older children or none at all so she can settle in her own time. She has had surgery on her eyes to correct a eye condition and may still need further treatment but this will all be done prior to rehoming. In the meantime she really needs a loving home to come forward, is that you?

Primrose

Primrose

Primrose is a gorgeous young collie in need of a very special home. This poor baby has had a awful life so far. She arrived with a horrendous neck injury and it has taken quite a bit of time in a foster home to show her humans are not all bad. Bless her she is quite fearful but has made tremendous progress so far. She will need a home with very secure fencing, another dog for company and a home with no children or older teenagers. She needs a quiet home with a routine and as little stress as possible and we believe judging by her fantastic progress so far she will finally relax and become the dog she has the potential to be.

Bruce is a fantastic boy in need of a experienced owner. He is such a good boy and would suit a home as the only pet or with another dog as he is quite social, preferably with no children and a owner with experience of the breed. Daisy

Daisy

Daisy is a stunning lady in need of a very special home. Daisy is partially blind, it is congenital and cannot be rectified but she copes very well and in the right home she will thrive. She is currently in long term foster but unfortunately cannot stay indefinitely. She will require a quiet patient home where she can have plenty of space and routine. She adores other dogs and would love to be rehomed with her pal Primrose or as a companion for another dog in the home. She is also lead and house trained and good with cats. This poor girl deserves the very best, can you offer her the forever home she craves? Daisy was bought as a puppy from a indiscriminate breeder who did not vet their dogs properly, her owners had her for over a year at which time the unceremoniously dumped her on kind-hearted volunteers of the centre as she was too much trouble for them. She is now safe & in need of our help. Can you help Daisy?

Minnie

Minnie

MINNIE is looking for a HOME. This lovely big girl is Minnie. She is approximately 3 years old and a spaniel cross (probably with a boxer). She came into the care of the KWWSPCA along with another dog Moe from fairly unfortunate circumstances where they didn’t have much space or interaction with other dogs. Minnie is a very friendly girl who loves human company and receiving affection. She also clearly loves her food as she is quite overweight and needs to shed a few pounds so it will be a doggy boot camp for her with plenty of exercise! She loves going for walks but needs basic lead training as she pulls very strongly at the moment (at least until she gets tired). She is very sociable, frindly and gets on very well with all the other dogs here at the KWWSPCA shelter, and she could certainly join a family with other dogs. If you would be interested in re-homing Minnie or for more information about her, please call/text 087 1279835 or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). A home check will be required. We ask for a rehoming fee of €100 when we rehome a dog to partly offset their veterinary and other costs

Doodle

Doodle

Doodle is a very special little 6 week old kitten who is looking for a very special home with a dedicated owner. Doodle came Into inspector Lisa I Donovan's care at 2 weeks of age. He was so weakened it was doubtful he would survive however he survived against all odds. Misfortune met doodle again when he was attacked by the resident cat and was left injured and once again on deaths door. This little resilient guy once again struggled for survival and fought his way to recovery. However he has been left with a disability and while active and able he has suffered a little nerve damage on his left side so he may not be adapted to climbing and time will only tell if he will live life as a normal cat or will have restricted mobility. Doodle needs a very loving owner who will love and mind him. He is extremely affectionate and gentle and adores being on your lap and being petted. Ideally he will have access to a secure garden where he can potter around. Whoever adopts his little man will be hugely rewarded like Lisa has been, with this very special little fighter.

Doodle is currently in the care of the ISPCA National Animal Centre

Derryglogher Lodge, Keenagh, Co. Longford.
