Leaving a gift in your will is a lifeline for the ISPCA helping to save animals' suffering from cruelty, neglect and abuse. The ISPCA is entirely dependent on supporters who care about animals with almost 90% of income received from public donations, fundraising events and gifts left in wills.
ISPCA Fundraising Manager Ann Howgego said, “It's a common misconception that only wealthy and famous people leave a gift to charity in their will. This could not be any further from the truth and no gift amount is too large or small. People who love animals and who remember the ISPCA in their wills do so because they believe in our vision to end cruelty to animals in Ireland. These gifts allow the ISPCA to develop services as well as enabling us to respond quickly to emergency situations such as seizing puppies from illegal dog breeding establishments. By supporting the ISPCA you will be remembered for doing something really special, ensuring your passion for animal welfare lives on, long into the future”.
The ISPCA received over 15,000 cases of animal cruelty reported to the National Animal Cruelty Helpline last year, 3,000 cases were investigated, 1,100 animals were rescued and 35 prosecutions were initiated by ISPCA Inspectors. Gifts in wills help the ISPCA do what they do best rescuing animals from desperate situations, providing care and veterinary treatment before finding them a second chance of a happy home where they will be loved and cared for. We know how important it is to plan for the future and once family and friends have been looked after, deciding to leave a gift to the ISPCA is a wonderful way to support the cause you care about.
