“The New Cat” in aid of the ISPCA

The ISPCA is delighted to announce the launch of “The New Cat” a heart-warming picture book beautifully written by Carmel Ui Cheallaigh (self-confessed cat-lover) and vividly brought to life by award winning Illustrator Fintan Taite.

The book tells the story of a stray ginger cat who turns up on the doorstep of Mrs Kelly one cold rainy day. The lively text and illustrations perfectly convey how this little tom finds his feet and his new home! We also learn the correct way to treat and look after a stray cat. The book was successfully launched last Wednesday night by well know vet Pete Wedderburn at Bray Vets.

Pete Wedderburn said: "This book should be read to all children so that they understand animals have all the same feelings as humans. Lavishly and colourfully illustrated, it takes readers through the journey of an un-owned cat arriving in a family home, to be taken in, cherished, and returned to full health as a much-loved family pet"

The New Cat book is a great Christmas gift for cat lovers and is available to order online here and costs €9.95 plus postage and packaging with €1 from the sale of each book going directly to the ISPCA.  Check out our fantastic range of gifts for this coming festive season at ISPCA’s new online shop.
