Thanks so much to our amazing supporters who responded to our Carlow Puppy Farm Emergency Appeal by making a life-saving donation. It is nearly two months on and we wanted to let you know that we raised a massive €100,418 thanks to your kind support.
We are extremely grateful to our affiliated SPCA’s and the welfare organisations listed below who worked with us on such a large scale rescue operation. The majority of these dogs rescued had extremely heavily matted coats and were suffering from chronic and often severe skin, ear and eye conditions. A great number of the dogs rescued suffered serious dental care issues, untreated injuries, illnesses and infections. All animals received a veterinary assessment and treatment, were vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered/spayed before being responsibly rehomed.
The ISPCA will be contributing to veterinary costs incurred by those organisations that helped us. We expect the total cost of veterinary treatment alone will be in excess of €60,000 and any balance will be used towards our next emergency rescue. Here is an example of how your donation has helped.
We simply couldn’t have helped them without you! Dogs Trust Ireland; Donegal SPCA; Kildare and West Wicklow SPCA; Kilkenny SPCA; Limerick Animal Welfare; Laois SPCA; Longford SPCA; Mayo SPCA; Roscommon SPCA; Wicklow SPCA; Tipperary Friends of Animals, Waterford SPCA Cavaliers in Need and Last Chance Animals Dublin. Special thanks to staff, volunteers and groomers who worked tirelessly and to everyone who kindly donated food, bedding, dog collars and treats etc. You have been amazing!
