General Information about Cavan SPCA
Cavan SPCA is a small but active member society of the ISPCA. We have found in the last three years our workload has increased quite dramatically - we hope this is as a result of better awareness regarding animal welfare rather than an increase in neglect.
We work closely with our two ISPCA Inspectors, local Vets and Garda and we also have a good relationship with local media.
We have run a Cat spaying/neutering scheme for the past 5 years, this proved so successful that last year we introduced a similar scheme for dogs. We believe this is the only way that the huge problem of unwanted cats and dogs can be successfully addressed.
We are a group of people that do something to help the animals in our area, giving a little something back to our society. Future members are always welcome. Member is just €25 A year and entitles you to free entrance to all our events and a way to make and use your local connections in Cavan
Our running costs are increasing each year but we would like to thank the Dept. of Agriculture for their help each year and hope this will continue.
